Vintage Days Out is a luxury boat charter and experiences company which creates tailored days out for individuals, small groups and businesses; with a choice of three vintage boats.
Focused on a stunning countryside stretch of the iconic River Thames in Berkshire and Oxfordshire from our base near Goring on Thames*, we provide a touch of the elegance of years gone by.
With our beautifully restored vintage boats and a selection of classic Rolls Royces, combined with delicious dining and drinks options, we’ll ensure a day you’ll remember whether for a special occasion or just to treat yourself and guests.
* We can operate from anywhere on the non-tidal Thames, but to start/end your cruise from a mooring other than Goring there will be a re-siting charge. Please enquire for details.
A passion for vintage cars and boats
Vintage Days Out is a family-owned business with a long-held passion for vintage cars and boats, and a background in hospitality and events.
Our proprietors have owned many vintage cars including a pre-war Vauxhall DX, a Morris 8, an Alvis 12/50 and more recently 3 Rolls Royces.
We are members of TVBC (Thames Vintage Boat Club), ATYC (Association of Thames Yacht Clubs), RREC (Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club) and VSCC (Vintage Sports Car club).
Our vintage boats
We have a selection of superbly restored vintage boats and we take away all the stress of handling a vessel of up to 40ft by providing you with an experienced skipper.
Our largest boat accommodates 12 people but for larger groups you can book more than one boat which will run together.
The newest addition to the fleet is our beautifully restored Dunkirk Little Ship which is 40’ long and a genuine hero.
Charles Cooper Henderson was built in 1933 and has a rich history as an RNLI Lifeboat based at Dungeness, becoming Britain’s longest-serving lifeboat.
During her 41 years in service, she took part in 171 rescues and saved 63 lives but for many her finest moment was during the evacuation of 338,000 Allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk during World War II.
However, it was during that famous event that she needed to be rescued by the RNLI herself and required repairs.
Charles Cooper Henderson accommodates 12.
A stunning example of a wooden-built day cruiser, a fully restored fine example of a 1930s classic.
One of only 164 of these 26-foot cruisers built in 1937-38, she is constructed largely from mahogany on oak and is a credit to the wooden boat builders craft.
She was almost entirely rebuilt between 2008 and 2011 and has both lovely inside and outside space to enjoy, and an all-weather cover if needed.
Lollapalooza comfortably accommodates 8 people.
Simply the most elegant of open cockpit launches.
This beautiful circa-1950 18ft-long Venetian style boat has been fully refurbished with mahogany planking and floors.
She is now electrically powered and provides a beautiful silent cruise on the water. With comfortable seating, she has an all-weather cover if needed.
Nina is ideal for couples to enjoy a romantic trip on the river.
Our boats are members of the Thames Vintage Boat Club and carry first aid and firefighting equipment. Life jackets are available as required. All our boats are certified under the Boat Safety Scheme and are fully insured.
Our pre-war Rolls Royce selection
Our stunning vintage cars can be hired as part of a day out on the river and are also available for weddings and special event hire.
Their timeless elegance and superior quality makes them the perfect choice for weddings, prom events, and other special occasions.
And of course, our vehicles are maintained to high standards, with smartly-dressed chauffeurs to drive you smoothly to your destination.
All our cars are genuine pre-war vintage cars, lovingly restored and with real characters and histories of their own.
They include what is believed to be the last surviving example of the 1923 ‘baby’ Rolls Royce 20HP, featured in the world renowned ‘bible’ on the subject by John M Fasal.
Just relax and indulge yourself!
Make your day even more special with our vintage boats.
